Eureka, IL, March 27, 2013 -- Cox Transfer, Inc. a growing over the road van, flatbed, and transportation management company, is pleased to announce the purchase of Horton Trucking Inc. of Tremont, IL. The purchase on April 1, 2013 will include a lease of the Tremont, IL terminal. Clayton Horton, the President of Horton Trucking, Inc., who has over 30 years' experience in the flatbed industry will help to ensure a smooth transition for Horton Trucking Inc. customers.
Mark Voudrie, President of Cox Transfer, Inc., commented, "We are excited to continue the expansion of our Flatbed Division to include long haul by servicing Horton Trucking Inc. current customer base, and providing long haul flatbed service to our current customers. This is the first in a series of strategic acquisitions we will make over the next 36 months." Additionally, Sam Gronewold, Flatbed Dispatch Supervisor was quoted as saying, "Acquiring Horton Trucking will take our division to the next level. Growth has been in Mark's strategic plan for the Flatbed Division since he purchased Cox Transfer in the fall of 2011. The fleet has almost quadrupled in size. This is just the beginning of a lot of great news and growth for this organization!"

Horton Trucking Inc. began in 1981 as primarily a carrier for Keystone, and grew to have a broad base of steel, farm, and mining customers in Illinois. HTI also diversified its base of direct customers throughout the country. Clayton Horton is preparing to retire and looks forward to helping Cox Transfer, Inc. with the transition. Transportation is in Clayton's blood and he will drive part-time for Cox Transfer, Inc.
